In this class, from observation, you will first draw a greyscale image, then learn to interpret the tonal value of a black and white image, and then by adding layers of different color pastels you will explore and learn complex color theory relationships. No experience with oil pastels is necessary, but some experience with drawing is required; if you’re comfortable drawing light and shadow, then this class is for you.
This class includes more than $70 in quality supplies. You will go home with a better understanding of color theory, value, and all the supplies you’ll need to continue your journey with oil pastels. Taught by talented artist and experienced instructor Ingrid Wiemer.
We do not think financial barriers should prohibit people from participation in arts education. We are hoping to fund one scholarship slot for each class. If you are in a position to give towards that fund, there is an option to partially or fully fund a scholarship when you register. If you want to take the class, but cannot afford the full registration, please email whitney@oddnodd.com
This one-day class meets in the back room of Odd Nodd from 6:15-9:15pm
