Japanese Art Papers are made in the traditional paper districts of Japan. The pulp-based Gasen and Torinko papers are sturdy and resilient with each sheet lightly sized to capture the fine details in artwork. Kozo paper is made with 100% unsized Kozo fiber, which makes it solid and durable. Gasen and Torinoko sheets are perfect for ink painting, watercolor, Suminagashi (Japanese marbling), calligraphy and block printing. The surface of Torinoko holds up to watercolor washes with minimal wrinkling. Kozo paper is ideal for Sumi-e, watercolor painting, conservation and repair, woodblock and other printmaking techniques. All sheets feature one smooth side and one slightly rough side. Create on the smooth side for the best results.
